From the Ariège foothills to the summits of the Ariège Pyrenees, culminating at 10 095 ft with the Montcalm summit, the Ariège offers a great diversity of landscapes. It’s a land of contrast. To practice the hike in Ariège, it is to offer a sumptuous panorama of very different landscapes according to the sites: Valley of Haut-Couserans, valley of Haute Ariège, Valley of Vicdessos, Pyrenean foothills.
The GR10 crosses the department from East to West. You will have the leisure to admire breathtaking views, a wild and varied fauna: marmots, wild boars, isards and an exceptional flora.
